Transportation Information

As Japan’s third largest city, Osaka is a city with advanced transit, allowing you to enjoy your visit while travelling conveniently by air, road, train, or subway.  

Kansai International Airport (KIX)
Located off the coast of the Osaka Bay, Kansai International Airport is the world’s first airport constructed on a man-made island.  As the primary airport of the Greater Osaka area, Kansai handles almost 28 million travelers each year.  Kansai Airport is located 41 km (25.5 miles) from the ATC Pacific Trade Hall/Grand Prince Hotel, approximately a 41 minute drive.

By Taxi: Best direct option.  Average price JPY 16,000 ($112 USD) per car.  Maximum of 4 people per car. Travel time: 45 minutes approximately.  

By Limousine Bus ShuttleBest price. Traveling to Grand Prince Hotel – Shuttle bus departs from Bus Stop 7 of Terminal 2 and Bus Stop 3 of Terminal 1.  Take the bus bound for Osaka Nanko for JPY 1,600 ($12 USD) per person. Travel time: 50 minutes.

Itami/Osaka International Airport (ITM)
Often referred to as Itami Airport, Osaka International Airport is the primary regional airport for Japan’s Kansai region.  Despite the “International” designation, Itami currently handles only domestic flights, servicing more than 14 million passengers annually.  Itami Airport is located 28.8 km (17.9 miles) from the Grand Prince Hotel/ATC Hall, approximately a 30 minute drive.

By Monorail and TramBest price. Traveling to Grand Prince Hotel – Take Osaka Monorail to Hotarugaike Station, Takarazuka Main (Express Osaka-Umeda), Osaka Station to Cosmosquare/Nakafuto Station for JPY 870 ($6 USD) per person. Requires multiple transfers.  Travel time: 1 hour 10 minutes.

Getting Around Osaka
By Public TransportOperated by Osaka Metro, nine subway lines combine with Osaka City Bus to cover most of the city.  Tickets can be purchased from a vending machine at any subway station.  Take advantage of the 1-day pass at JPY 820 ($5.50 USD).  Fare prices range per destination, see website for more information.

By CarDriving in Japan requires an International Driving Permit if you currently hold a foreign driver’s license.  Applications must be completed before arrival.  Japanese translated documents are required if you have a license issued in the following countries: France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Monaco, or Taiwan.

Shinkansen (Bullet Train)If you are looking to discover the different cities in Japan, the Shinkansen trains are the most efficient way to travel.  Reaching a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph) the Shinkansen was nicknamed the “bullet train” for their great speed and aerodynamic bullet shape of their noses.  With nine separate lines and a variety of seating options, the Shinkansen operates from Tokyo to major cities at regular intervals.  The trip from Osaka to Tokyo is a swift 2.5 hours!  

Osaka ATC Hall
Located in the Osaka Bay area, Osaka ATC Hall is one of the largest event complexes in Osaka.  Roughly 20 minutes from downtown Hamachi,  Osaka ATC Hall is a 5 minute walk  from Grand Prince Hotel.

Parking is 300 yen per 30 minutes. Payment can be made by credit card.
